Bow Tie Pasta In Garlic & Caper Sauce
If there is one thing that I can eat over and over again, without getting tired of it, is pasta. I am a pasta lover and I am always trying new sauces and new ways to cook my pasta. Recently, I have been enjoying cooking light, refreshing and quick meals. I can’t stress enough how important it is for me to make quick and easy meals. It saves me a lot of time in the kitchen and there is less dirty dishes to clean up. It’s a win/win if you asked me!
This recipe is super quick, simple and full of flavor. If you love pasta as much as I do, I’m sure you will definitely enjoy this one!
- Bow Tie pasta (enough for 2 servings)
- 2TBS of capers (chopped)
- 1/3 cup of Olive oil
- 4-5 Garlic cloves (thinly sliced)
- Salt & Pepper (to taste)
- Roma tomatoes (optional)
Add the olive oil to a cold saucepan and add the garlic. This step is essential because you want the garlic to slowly cook and infuse the olive oil. Having the saucepan cold whenyou add the garlic, will prevent it from burning.
Next, turn the stove to low heat and let the garlic slowly cook until it is golden brown. While the garlic is cooking, add the pasta to a pot of bowling water ( make sure to salt the water!). Let the pasta cook for 10-11 minutes. Meanwhile, chop the capers and parsley. I decided to add tomatoes for color and more flavor, but I have made this with just garlic and capers and it is just as delicious!
Once the garlic is starting to look golden brown, remove from the stove to stop the cooking process. Burned garlic is not fun nor does it taste good! Next, check on the pasta and if it is aldente, make sure to drain and place it in a bowl.
Add the capers and olive oil infused with garlic. Capers are a little salty, so adding more salt will depend on your taste. I did not add extra salt to my pasta, just some ground black pepper, tomatoes and parsley. Give it another toss and the pasta is ready to be served!
